Their journey has taken them across the country, living in various cities including South Bend, IN; Traverse City, MI; Daytona Beach, FL; Carlsbad, CA; and Cleveland, OH, before settling in Wake Forest, North Carolina, in 2012.

Shanlyn is well-acquainted with the Wake County area and its surroundings, having lived in both Raleigh and Wake Forest.
