With a deep appreciation for the distinctiveness of the Ketchikan and Southeast Alaska real estate market, this agent recognizes the unique coastal environment and vibrant community that define the area. The limited inventory and rich cultural landscape inspire a commitment to maximizing opportunities for clients.

Originally from Lake Chelan, Washington, this agent relocated to Ketchikan in 1988 and has maintained strong ties to her roots, visiting family there each summer. Her dedication to the community began early, with experiences ranging from babysitting and working at A&P to serving coffee at B&D and refereeing local soccer games. After graduating from Ketchikan High School in 2001, she pursued a Bachelor’s degree in English with a focus on Technical Communications at Eastern Washington University.

Upon returning to Ketchikan, she established her marketing business, U Need Media Arts, and took on the role of local director for Big Brothers Big Sisters. Her leadership skills were further honed when she became the executive director of Critical Care Incorporated, a statewide non-profit organization. In addition to her professional endeavors, she taught group fitness classes for over five years, ultimately leading her to found Liberty Fitness in May 2008, driven by her passion for helping others achieve their goals.

Now a devoted wife to Chris and mother to three children—Avaka, Cody, and Zerek—she balances her professional and personal life with enthusiasm. Joining the Re/Max of Ketchikan team in June 2011 marked a significant step in her career, where she received invaluable support for her professional development. In June 2015, she earned her Broker’s license and began to build her own team.

For those looking to buy or sell property in Alaska, this agent offers a wealth of knowledge and reliability. Whether clients are relocating, transitioning, upgrading, or downsizing, she serves as Ketchikan’s trusted real estate resource. Ketchikan Gateway County's real estate market operates in one of Alaska's most unique geographical settings, where the Pacific Northwest's temperate rainforest meets the rugged beauty of Southeast Alaska's Inside Passage. This island-based market centers around Ketchikan, Alaska's "First City," where cruise ships and fishing boats share harbors, and where real estate values are shaped as much by accessibility and weather as by traditional market forces.

The county's real estate landscape is served by a tight-knit community of 35 actively licensed agents, all of whom maintain email contact information, reflecting the modern communication needs essential in this remote but connected market. This relatively small agent population handles everything from waterfront cabins accessible only by floatplane to downtown Ketchikan commercial properties that serve thousands of summer tourists.

Major Ketchikan Gateway County, Alaska Real Estate Markets

Ketchikan dominates the county's real estate activity, functioning as the economic and population hub with approximately 8,000 residents. The city's downtown core features a mix of historic properties along Creek Street and modern developments that cater to both year-round residents and the tourism industry. Outlying areas like Saxman and Mountain Point offer more secluded residential options, often featuring properties with stunning water views and private dock access.

Beyond Ketchikan proper, the county encompasses remote communities accessible primarily by boat or plane, including Metlakatla on Annette Island and various isolated homesteads throughout Prince of Wales Island's eastern reaches. These areas represent some of Alaska's most challenging real estate markets, where property values can fluctuate dramatically based on seasonal accessibility and utility availability.

Market Dynamics and Geographic Complexity

The local real estate market exhibits fascinating seasonal patterns, with peak activity coinciding with the summer months when transportation is most reliable and buyers can actually access remote properties. Winter sales often involve properties that buyers haven't physically visited, creating unique challenges that local agents navigate through extensive photo documentation and detailed property histories. Waterfront properties command premium prices, but buyers must consider factors like tidal exposure, winter storm damage, and the availability of protected moorage.

Perhaps most surprising is how international buyers, particularly from the cruise industry and fishing sectors, influence local property values. These purchasers often seek investment properties or seasonal retreats, creating market dynamics more similar to resort communities than typical rural Alaska markets. Climate change has also begun affecting long-term property values, as rising sea levels and increased storm intensity impact waterfront property insurance costs and desirability.

Why Businesses Need Ketchikan Gateway County, Alaska Agent Contact Data

For businesses targeting Alaska's unique real estate market, having direct contact with all 35 licensed agents in Ketchikan Gateway County provides access to a specialized knowledge base that extends far beyond traditional property sales. These agents often serve as informal consultants for everything from commercial fishing vessel moorage to tourism industry property development, making them valuable contacts for marine equipment suppliers, construction companies, and hospitality businesses.

The complete email accessibility of the agent network enables efficient communication despite the county's challenging geography and time zone considerations. Mortgage companies, insurance providers, and property management services can leverage these contacts to understand local market conditions that don't appear in standard real estate databases, such as seasonal accessibility issues, utility infrastructure limitations, and the impact of federal land restrictions on development opportunities.
