Before he started his own real estate firm Shawn was affiliated with other Phoenix area
brokerages where he was typically the top producer His decision to establish Phoenix Metro Properties with several realtors allowed his new brand to benefit from his real estate expertise and communications background

In addition to starting the realty business Shawn purchased and published a long-established newspaper The Communicator in Maricopa The paper won statewide community service and journalistic excellent awards several times in the five years he served as publisher
Shawn’s degree in communications from the University of Kansas served him well in journalism
and in real estate

As a realtor and businessman he is decisive collaborative and driven Learning what his real
estate buyers and sellers need he finds the most effective way to get them into a home they
love or sell their property He is particularly proud of finding “Mr Peace” a home in Chandler
where the shuttle service owner is happily raising his children

“I am invested in every house I sell I review every property to evaluate whether it’s good for
them (the buyer) Finding homes that will provide equity a vested interest for my clients is
very important to me ” Shawn says

As a youth Shawn Schlegel had an early taste of property management since his father liked to
buy apartment properties and manage them Shawn fixed and painted apartments when
tenants moved

When it came time to renovate their new home with his then-fiancé MacKenzie Shawn
plunged into the rehabbing of their 1955-built Camelback Road property He designed and
oversaw much of the work himself

They were on the engagement “fast track ” Shawn says Once engaged they bought their
house married in Maui in May 2016 remodeled the house MacKenzie was pregnant had the
baby and they just moved into their home and Shawn to his new business location off
Camelback Road by February 2018

Shawn announces the list of changes as if everyone totally remakes their lives in less than two
years Shawn MacKenzie and Zoey are now in residence at their creatively updated home

Using lumber on hand he designed an attractive sliding barn door as a focal point for his
master bedroom Every room shows clean design and practical additions

Because they chose the neighborhood carefully Shawn is pleased that almost everything he
needs to do is within walking distance including Phoenix Metro Properties’ new office off of
Camelback Road Most of the other businesses Shawn visits are close by so he doesn’t need to
drive every day

One change he’s made puts him a bit farther from his family who are all in Maricopa He grins
as he assures Zoey that she’ll see a lot of Grandma and Grandpa who dote on their new
granddaughter

Shawn’s plans for Phoenix Metro Properties now that his new office is set up are to grow the
sales force of agents He’s already planning how he can help the neighborhood and
campaign for better public transportation access

Maricopa County stands as Arizona's economic powerhouse and the fourth-largest county in the United States by population, creating one of the nation's most dynamic real estate markets. Home to Phoenix, Scottsdale, and numerous rapidly growing suburbs, this sprawling desert metropolis has transformed from a retirement destination into a thriving hub for technology companies, manufacturing, and young professionals seeking affordable alternatives to California's expensive coastal markets.

The county's real estate landscape reflects this dramatic growth, supported by an impressive network of 38,325 actively licensed agents—all of whom maintain current email contact information. This robust agent population serves a market characterized by diverse housing options, from luxury desert estates in Scottsdale to affordable starter homes in emerging communities like Surprise and Goodyear, creating opportunities across every price segment and buyer demographic.

Major Maricopa County, Arizona Real Estate Markets

Phoenix anchors the region as the fifth-largest city in America, with distinct neighborhoods like Central Phoenix experiencing urban revitalization while established areas like Ahwatukee maintain their suburban appeal. Scottsdale commands premium prices with its resort-style living and proximity to world-class golf courses, while Tempe benefits from Arizona State University's presence, driving consistent rental demand. Mesa, often overlooked despite being larger than Atlanta or Miami, offers exceptional value for families and has become a hotspot for California transplants.

The West Valley communities of Glendale, Peoria, and Avondale have emerged as major growth centers, attracting young families with new construction and master-planned communities. Meanwhile, the Southeast Valley cities of Chandler and Gilbert have evolved into technology corridors, with major employers like Intel and Microchip creating sustained housing demand. These diverse markets each require specialized knowledge, making local agent expertise invaluable for successful transactions.

Market Dynamics and Geographic Complexity

Maricopa County's real estate market operates across multiple distinct climate zones and development patterns, from dense urban infill projects in downtown Phoenix to sprawling estate lots in Desert Mountain. The region's rapid population growth—adding over 100,000 residents annually—creates constant pressure on housing inventory, while seasonal migration patterns from colder states influence both sales and rental markets. This complexity requires agents to understand everything from HOA restrictions in age-restricted communities to water rights in rural areas.

The market's seasonality presents unique challenges and opportunities, with "snowbird" migration creating distinct busy periods from November through March, followed by a summer slowdown when temperatures exceed 110 degrees. Additionally, the prevalence of cash buyers, investment properties, and vacation homes creates transaction patterns unlike traditional residential markets, requiring agents who understand investor motivations and can navigate complex 1031 exchanges and multi-property portfolios.

Why Businesses Need Maricopa County, Arizona Agent Contact Data

The sheer scale of Maricopa County's agent network makes targeted outreach essential for service providers, technology companies, and financial institutions seeking to capture market share. With 38,325 agents generating thousands of monthly transactions, businesses offering everything from home inspection services to mortgage products need efficient ways to reach decision-makers across this vast geographic area. Email marketing remains the most cost-effective method for reaching agents who are constantly mobile between showings and client meetings.

Furthermore, Maricopa County's diverse market segments require tailored messaging strategies—luxury specialists in Paradise Valley have different needs than first-time buyer agents in Avondale. Having comprehensive contact data allows businesses to segment their outreach based on geographic specialization, transaction volume, or market focus, dramatically improving response rates and conversion potential while building lasting relationships in one of America's most important real estate markets.
