About Sonya Alexander

After graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point, Sunny earned a commission in the U.S. Army, where she served honorably for six years. Her military journey began at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where she met her husband during airborne operations. Her final assignment took her to Fort Belvoir, Virginia, where she had the privilege of supporting Gold Star Families and military families with Wounded Warriors.

Following her military service, Sunny pursued a Master’s degree in Corporate Communications, enhancing her skills in residential marketing. With her husband’s last assignment at USSOCOM on MacDill Air Force Base, the couple created lasting family memories in Tampa, ultimately deciding to make it their permanent home after his retirement.

Sunny is deeply committed to serving her family, friends, and community. She is actively involved in her church and takes on leadership roles in various philanthropic initiatives throughout the Tampa Bay area. Her affiliations include membership in the Tampa Downtown Rotary Club, the Board of Directors for the West Point Society of Florida, and 21&Change, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting children with special needs. Additionally, she contributes to Amazing Love Ministries, which serves the homeless and underprivileged. In recognition of her efforts, she received the 2019 Ambassador for Change Award from 21&Change.

In the real estate sector, Sunny has made significant contributions as an operating broker for Sentry Residential in Florida from 2021 to 2023. During her leadership, she successfully tripled the number of active realtors within the organization and was honored with the Broker of the Year award in 2022.
