Stephen graduated from Louisiana State University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree, following earlier studies at Holy Name of Jesus Grammar School and DeLaSalle High School in New Orleans.

Beginning their career in the music retail sector, Stephen worked at Werlein's For Music from 1983 to 2002, progressing from a sales role to Vice President. This experience honed their skills in customer service and sales strategy, laying a solid groundwork for a transition into real estate.

In 1998, Stephen began part-time real estate sales with Latter & Blum Real Estate, and in 2002, they committed to the field full-time. Alongside their role at Latter & Blum, Stephen is the owner of C&S Properties and Ehlinger Properties, both established in 2002.
