He then served as Office Manager at Lyon Real Estate in Roseville for four years. Currently, Sterling is the Manager and Co-Owner of Dean Adams Residential Brokerage, with a focus on serving clients and agents in the Natomas office, specializing in sales across Natomas, Placer County, and the broader Sacramento area.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Sterling is passionate about coaching. He dedicates his time to mentoring his two sons in football and basketball and is also the coach for the Natomas High School Varsity Girls Basketball team. His eldest son plays football for City College of San Francisco after a successful stint as quarterback for the Inderkum Tigers, while Sterling enjoys coaching his youngest son, Tabias, in both sports.
