After graduating from Keystone Heights Jr/Sr High, he pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Criminology at the University of North Florida, having first earned an Associate's Degree from Santa Fe College. Despite opportunities that took him beyond Keystone, he chose to remain in the Lake Region, valuing its welcoming atmosphere.

He and his wife, Sarah, are proud parents of two children, Sadie and Oliver. He is committed to providing them with the same enriching "small town" upbringing that he cherished.
