About Suzanne Pennink

Suzanne Barlow embarked on her real estate journey in 1974 in Fayetteville, North Carolina. A year later, she established her own independent firm, Suzanne Barlow REALTORS, which she successfully managed until 2000. That year marked a significant transition as she merged her company with Larry Strother to create Pennink and Strother Real Estate. Shortly thereafter, they acquired an ERA franchise. In 2001, they further expanded their operations by joining forces with Coldwell Banker United Realty, forming the HPS Inc group alongside Ralph Huff.

Throughout her career, Suzanne has held numerous leadership roles within both local and state REALTOR associations. Notably, she served as President of the Fayetteville Association in 1992 and was honored as REALTOR of the Year in 1994. From 1992 to 2006, she represented North Carolina as a state director for the North Carolina Association of REALTORS (NCAR) and received the prestigious NCAR Citizenship Award in 2003. Currently, she is an active member of the state legislative committee and serves as a director for the Fayetteville Association of REALTORS.

In addition to her real estate expertise, Suzanne is a licensed general contractor, having built homes and developed subdivisions in the Cumberland County area. She was President of the Fayetteville Homebuilders Association in 1998 and served as Treasurer in 2003. Her contributions to community planning include participation in the Cumberland County 2010 Planning Committee and a tenure on the Historic Resources Commission for the City of Fayetteville, where she chaired the commission for two years.

Suzanne's commitment to community service is further exemplified by her involvement with the Ft Bragg/Fayetteville Housing Task Force from 1996 to 1999, for which she received the Commander's Award for Public Service in 1997.

An advocate for the local arts, Suzanne has participated in various boards and fundraising initiatives, serving as President of the Arts Council of Fayetteville from 1991 to 1992. Her contributions have been recognized with the Athena Award from the Chamber of Commerce in 1997 and the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year Award from Methodist College in 1989. She is also a current member of the Foundation Board at Fayetteville Technical Community College.

Suzanne holds several professional designations, including CRB, GRI, GRB (Builders Institute), and ABR. She is married to Dr. Menno Pennink and is a proud mother of three and grandmother of one.
