About Tamela Waltz

With a career in real estate that began in 1993, Tamela joined her parents, Sandy and Jerry Laine, at RE/MAX Champions in Spring, Texas, where she took on operational and administrative responsibilities. This early exposure to the industry laid a solid foundation for her future success.

In 1994, Tamela obtained her real estate license and transitioned to RE/MAX Northwest, where she focused on establishing her own business. Her dedication paid off in 1995 when she was recognized as the "Rookie of the Year" by RE/MAX of Texas, achieving over $3 million in sales during her inaugural year. Specializing in residential sales, she concentrated on listing and marketing properties in her local neighborhood while actively engaging with the community through sponsorship of local schools and swim teams. Many of her clients were employed at Compaq Computers, allowing her to tailor her services to meet their specific needs. She believes that a successful agent must possess a deep understanding of the market and be an attentive listener.

By 1999, Tamela noticed a shift in her clientele, with many relocating to Austin for positions at Dell Computers. To better serve these clients, she joined Gary Greene Better Homes and Gardens, becoming part of their relocation team. This experience enhanced her expertise in navigating the complexities of relocation services and further solidified her reputation in the industry.

In May 2002, after careful consideration, Tamela returned to RE/MAX, drawn by the opportunity to work alongside her mother, who continued to thrive in the business following the passing of her father. Although they do not operate as a designated team, their collaborative approach and shared commitment to their clients have made them a formidable presence in the Houston real estate market. Together, they boast over 60 years of combined experience and have both received the "Lifetime Achievement Award" from RE/MAX.

The challenges of 2020 prompted Tamela's daughter, Shelby Waltz, a Texas A&M University graduate, to pursue her real estate license and join the family business as a Marketing Specialist. With her expertise in social media and marketing trends, Shelby adds a modern touch to their established legacy, creating a dynamic family team.

Tamela is deeply passionate about real estate, and her clients benefit from her energetic approach, innovative marketing strategies, and unwavering work ethic. She prioritizes exceptional customer service through consistent communication, ensuring that her clients experience a seamless process when buying or selling a home. With a profound love for Houston, she is dedicated to showcasing the region's diverse offerings, from Galveston to The Woodlands, Spring, Tomball, and Cypress, guiding her clients every step of the way.
