About Theresa Rathke

Born and raised in the Southern Tier, this real estate professional has deep roots in the community, having spent their formative years on the South Side of Owego during the 1970s and 1980s. After graduating from Owego Free Academy in 1986, they pursued higher education at the Universities at Binghamton and Albany, ultimately earning a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the Rockefeller Institute of Public Affairs & Policy in 1992.

In 2006, they returned to the Southern Tier, bringing with them a wealth of experience as a self-employed antiques dealer and auctioneer, a career they had cultivated since 1995. A suggestion from a friend in 2008 led them to explore a new path in real estate, and they obtained their Real Estate Salesperson License in May 2009.

Having purchased their first property—a two-family home—at the age of 21, they possess a unique understanding of both the logistical and emotional aspects of real estate transactions. This insight allows them to guide clients effectively, ensuring that both buyers and sellers remain focused on the business aspects of their deals.

Since entering the real estate field, they have had the pleasure of assisting longtime friends, former neighbors, previous auction clients, and new acquaintances with their real estate needs across Tioga, Broome, and Chemung Counties. In May 2015, they took a significant step in their career by establishing their own independent brokerage office, further solidifying their commitment to serving the community.
