She initially pursued her studies at Iowa State University before transferring in 1974 to Logan College in Chesterfield, Missouri, where she earned dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Human Biology and a Doctor of Chiropractic degree.

In 1978, she relocated to California, establishing her first office in Moraga, where she practiced for 13 years before moving to Lafayette. She is a proud mother of two: her daughter, a teacher in the San Ramon Valley School District and a new mother herself, and her son, who serves as a firefighter in Burlingame.

In 2004, she obtained her California Real Estate License, building on her previous experience as a mortgage consultant, where she assisted seniors in managing their retirement funds through various home financing options. As a Senior Realtor Specialist, she has dedicated over a decade to serving the Rossmoor community.
