About William Bruce

Mark, originally from Indiana and Ohio, relocated to Sarasota in 1986. He graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando in 1991 and soon entered the golf industry. An accomplished golfer, Mark competed at the collegiate level before beginning his professional journey in 1993 as an assistant PGA professional at University Park Country Club in Sarasota. By 1998, he achieved full membership in the PGA of America and went on to serve as the Director of Golf at Bent Tree Country Club from 2000 to 2008.

During his fifteen years in this role, Mark observed the rapid expansion of golf course communities in the region. He noted how various country clubs carved out their unique identities within the market. This insight, combined with his marketing acumen, led him to establish Play Golf Sarasota in 2009, a leading golf-related marketing firm in the area.
